Course Information
GWO Enhanced First Aid refresher is for anyone working in the wind industry. It’s designed to take your basic first aid knowledge further by teaching you how to handle serious medical emergencies.
On our GWO Enhanced First Aid course, you’ll learn advanced skills like CPR, how to treat major bleeds and fractures, using first aid equipment (including AEDs), and handling medical emergencies like heart attacks and strokes.
The course also focuses on good communication and the most effective way to work as a team in an emergency/life-like setting.
Advanced Equipment and Remote Care
The course includes training on using advanced equipment and delivering enhanced first aid measures in environments where resources may be limited. Participants will learn how to provide assistance in remote areas using available equipment while maintaining high standards of care.
This includes managing incidents in isolated locations and ensuring continuity of care until professional emergency services can take over.
Practical Training and Emergency Response
A strong emphasis is placed on practical training, allowing participants to perform enhanced first aid techniques through realistic scenarios. Delegates will take part in practical elements that simulate first aid situations in the wind industry, ensuring they can apply their knowledge under pressure. This hands-on approach ensures participants can deliver effective and immediate lifesaving assistance and support casualty management during an incident.
