GWO Basic Technical Training Combined

Comprehensive GWO BTT Combined Training Program

The GWO Basic Technical Training Combined delivers complete certification across all four essential technical modules required for wind turbine maintenance and operations work.

This entry-level certification program covers Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electrical, and Bolt Tightening modules in one comprehensive training course. The Global Wind Organisation (GWO) established this basic technical training BTT standard to create a unified qualification framework for wind turbine technicians worldwide.

Since March 31, 2018, all new technicians working for GWO member companies must complete basic technical training before accessing wind turbines. Our training centre delivers this globally recognized certification that wind industry employers require, with successful completion recorded in the WINDA database for verification by employers anywhere in the world.

Course Information

The GWO Basic Technical Training Course serves as an excellent course which gives delegates knowledge in the following areas:

Mechanical
Electrical
Hydraulics
Bolt Tightening

GWO BTT is an excellent option for individuals who may have no prior mechanical or electrical experience and would like to gain an understanding. However it is equally suitable for those who already have an understanding of these systems.

This course is becoming increasingly popular among delegates in the wind industry and will allow delegates to perform basic hydraulic, mechanical and electrical tasks under the supervision of a senior person.

Why Choose GWO BTT Combined Training

Completing all four modules together provides significant advantages over scheduling individual technical training sessions separately.

  • Industry Recognition: GWO BTT certification is an industry-recognised benchmark that enhances employability in both onshore and offshore wind environments. Wind turbine manufacturers, operators, and service providers worldwide accept this qualification.

  • Cost Effective: Taking the combined training course reduces administrative overhead, travel time, and eliminates duplication of general introduction content across modules.

  • Comprehensive Skills: Master the essential skills for mechanical systems, electrical components, hydraulic systems, and bolt tightening tasks in one cohesive program.

  • Job Readiness: Participants perform tasks in a wind turbine environment specifically under the supervision of an experienced technician after completing this training, making graduates immediately valuable to employers.

Professional certification through our GWO basic technical training program positions you for career opportunities across the rapidly expanding renewable energy sector.
