Course Information
Administering safe and effective first aid in the wind turbine industry is of paramount importance to ensure the well-being of workers and to respond promptly to any emergencies that might arise.
This course is a crucial component of ensuring the safety and well-being of workers, as they often operate in remote or challenging locations where immediate medical assistance may not be readily available.
During the training sessions, participants will gain comprehensive knowledge on crucial subjects such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), administering basic first aid, adept assessment and communication, initiating emergency assistance, and effectively employing Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
Practical Training and Exercises
A strong emphasis is placed on practical training, allowing participants to demonstrate correct techniques and rebuild confidence in their ability to act independently. Through practical exercises, delegates will practise correctly carrying out first aid procedures, managing casualties, and responding to a range of realistic emergency situations.
This hands-on approach ensures participants can demonstrate understanding and apply their skills effectively in the workplace.
Emergency Response and Casualty Management
The course prepares participants to respond to emergency situations within a WTG environment, including providing effective first aid, enabling evacuation, and supporting casualty management until further assistance is available.
Delegates will learn how to assess situations quickly, prioritise actions, and deliver care in a safe and controlled manner.

This course is suitable for any wind personnel in the industry, delegates who hold a valid or in date GWO first aid certificate and need to renew their qualification. It is ideal for personnel working in the renewables industry, particularly those operating in remote or offshore environments where immediate medical assistance may not be available.
Participants must ensure their certification is within the allowed renewal window to complete the refresher rather than retaking the full course.
