Course Information

The combined GWO Advanced Rescue (ART) course includes all four modules, covering advanced rescue techniques and single rescuer operations in various sections of a wind turbine. This training addresses rescue scenarios in the hub, spinner, inside the blade, nacelle, tower, and basement, ensuring participants are equipped to handle complex situations throughout the entire turbine structure.

This training includes the the use of industry-standard rescue equipment and techniques, surpassing the standards set by GWO Working at Height, to ensure you are prepared for any rescue operations.

This training course is becoming increasingly popular as a result of heightened safety requirements within the industry.

  • This course is suitable for any personnel working in the wind industry.

  • Perform rescue operations in a wind turbine.
    Learn how to utilise rescue equipment safely.
    Perform rescue operations in poor lighting and enclosed space.
    Conduct a rescue operation with an injured individual.

  • A valid WINDA ID is required.
    You must have valid and in-date GWO Working at Height.
    You must have valid and in-date GWO First Aid.
    You must have valid and in-date GWO Manual Handling.
    Safety footwear is required for all practical sessions.
    A general standard of fitness is required.
    Photographic ID Card, such as a drivers licence or passport.

  • After successfully finishing the course, participants will receive a GWO-approved ART certificate, which remains valid for a duration of two years. To maintain their certification, delegates are required to undergo GWO ART again before the certificate's expiration date.

  • Registration and Welcome: The day typically begins with registration, where participants confirm their attendance and receive any necessary training materials or equipment.
    Safety Briefing: A safety briefing is conducted to highlight the importance of adhering to safety protocols throughout the training session and in our centre.
    Catering: Lunch will be provided to all delegates.

  • Participants or individuals booking the course are responsible for ensuring that they meet all the necessary prerequisites and provide the required evidence, such as valid certificates for revalidation courses, on the first day of the course.

    Failure to fulfill any of these prerequisites may lead to the participant being requested to leave the course. Please note that no refunds will be issued in such cases.
